After the Asopos Station we find a tunnel of about 350 meters, which ends at the bridge of Asopou, above the gorge of Dounou, which descends from Pavliani, the bridge of Papadia, 352 meters long and then the long tunnel of Bralos. The area during the Occupation gathered the interest of the rebels with the repeated blowing up of the bridges, except for the Gorgopotamos Bridge and the obligation to guard it until the last years with a military guard. The military outposts still exist today. The Gorge of Asopos is also known as the passage of Ephialtis, since from this area Ephialtis led the Persians to the rear of the Spartans, who had lined up at Thermopylae.
It is of particular archaeological interest, because nearby are ancient Heraklia, Trachina, Sideroporta and Kouvelos of Pavliani, where there is also a Byzantine Castle. In fact, it is said that in 1997, when the landslides occurred in the area of Asopos and the operation of the line stopped for a month, four graves were found at the site of the landslide, two of which were intact, but were looted.
